Judit Polgar to be Inducted into World Chess Hall of Fame during 6th Annual Strategy Across the Board Gala

The World Chess Hall of Fame (WCHOF) is excited to announce that the great Judit Polgar of Hungary will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during the 6th annual Strategy Across the Board Gala on December 3, 2022.[0] Recognized as one of the strongest chess players of all time, Polgar has broken barriers and records throughout her life.[1]

Chess is often seen as an educational and developmental tool due to its unique ability to stimulate the mind, require the use of logic, encourage predictive abilities, and help students succeed under pressure.[2] As the home of the highest-ranked collegiate chess team in the United States, the WCHOF is proud to offer an academic program built around chess to students of all levels, from preschool and lower school all the way up to kindergarten, second grade, and fifth grade.

Magnus Carlsen, the current world chess champion, has recently taken to Twitter to show his excitement for increased interest in chess from the general public.[1] He has shared his enthusiasm on Twitter multiple times, including a tweet on September 5, 2022, November 16, 2022, and September 26, 2022.

With this induction, the WCHOF is proud to honor the incredible contributions of Judit Polgar to the world of chess. We are sure that her legacy will continue to inspire and motivate generations of chess players to come.
